Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hurricane Miami.
Hurricane Miami, Anita's Special and Hurricane Pete were quick to begin.
Grumpy Grange visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the home turn.
Grumpy Grange underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 11 – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Jason Hardy regarding Grumpy Grange’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Grumpy Grange was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hardy pleaded not guilty to the charge. Grumpy Grange was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
