Steward's Report
Mrs Jessup - Late scratching (non-penalty) at 2.13pm with Stewards Permission.
Galloping Patch was slow to begin.
Hurricane Julie faltered approaching the first turn and lost ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness to left foreleg. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Bomber's Demon underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Margaret Read regarding Bomber's Demon’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Bomber's Demon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Read pled not guilty to the charge, Bomber's Demon was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected by any intervention, mechanical issue or other extraordinary circumstance so as to effect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.
