Steward's Report
The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86 due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays on–route to the track. The kennels closed at 6:32 PM.
The start was delayed by approximately two minutes due to operational activities.
Sweet Cannelloni was quick to begin.
Golden Shadow, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadriceps injury and right foreleg abrasion. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Susan Northway regarding Golden Shadow’s racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Golden Shadow was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Northway pleaded guilty to the charge. Golden Shadow was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Snowy Lily - the winner of the event.
