Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 29.9 degrees and the kennel temperature were 21.7 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Pursuant to GAR 75(6) Parade, Mr A.Blake did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.
Draconian and Zambora Colt were slow to begin.
Where's My Hat (turned its head outwards and marred London Berry in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Robert Hayes regarding Where's My Hat’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Where's My Hat was charged with marring. Mr Hayes pleaded guilty to the charge, Where's My Hat was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Violet's Delight (turned its head outwards and collided with Zambora Colt in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left wrist. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Representative Mr Cameron Taylor regarding Violet's Delight’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Violet's Delight was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Cameron Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge, Violet's Delight was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Paluma (eased approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race four. Violet's Delight was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Aaron Blake regarding Paluma’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Paluma was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Blake pleaded guilty to the charge, Paluma was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Draconian – the winner of the event.
