Steward's Report
Running River – Late scratching at 6:01pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Property Mogul was quick to begin. Bora Burst was slow to begin.
Soda Kiwi (severely checked and lost ground on the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury and thumps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Little Zambora (lost ground approaching the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Aeroplane Tori (checked multiple times in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Taylor Thornton regarding the racing manners of Aeroplane Tori in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Thornton, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
A post–race sample was taken from Bora Burst – the winner of the event.
