Maggie Pie was severely checked on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Luna Town marred Remnants in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion. No stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to respresentative, Mr Gary Hansen regarding Luna Town’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Luna Town was charged with marring. Mr Hansen pled guilty to the charge, Luna Town was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Evan's Almighty was quick to begin.

Rahela Bale was quick to begin. Aston General and Maximum Zeal were slow to begin.

All Inn War faded over the concluding stages, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Moo Star was quick to begin.

Champ Duran faded over the concluding stages, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have sand toe. No stand down period was imposed.

Gippsland Boy and Reel It In were slow to begin.

Max Anonymous faltered and lost ground approaching the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

Fairytale Poppy – New declared weight of 27.2kg, last raced at 25.9kg. 

Gotham Diva and Vortex were quick to begin. Fairytale Poppy was slow to begin.

Clase Azul – Late scratching at 1:00pm on the advice of the On– Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Major China – Late scratching at 1:40pm due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr Brian Hodgson informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr Hodgson that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence. 

Rock Icon and Curly Tail were slow to begin.
