Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Hydro Glide.
Button was quick to begin.
Button (lost ground approaching the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Kevin Ashton regarding Hydro Glide’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Hydro Glide was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Ashton pleaded not guilty to the charge. Hydro Glide was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
