Steward's Report
Space Cabang – The frequency of racing was discussed with Trainer Mr J.Mangion, the comments were noted.
A pre–race sample was taken from Aston Jasper.
Lily The Thief and Skipper Jack were slow to begin. Aston Jasper was very slow to begin (four lengths).
Space Cabang (turned its head outwards and marred Broadside in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr John Mangion regarding Space Cabang’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Space Cabang was charged with marring. Mr Mangion pleaded guilty to the charge, Space Cabang was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
