Steward's Report
Grand Oro and Internal Affairs were slow to begin.
Grand Oro turned its head outwards and visably eased approaching the home turn, it underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following Race 3. It was found to have a right gracillis and hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. N. Sheppard regarding Grand Oro’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Grand Oro was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. N. Sheppard pled guilty to the charge. Grand Oro must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Wrangler Jane underwent a post–race veterinary examination when the greyhound fell entering the catching pen and was found to have left hind foot spike wound. A 0 day stand down period was imposed.
