Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 37.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.7 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Sky High Riot was slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from Magic Muffin – the winner of the event.
Sky High Riot faltered on the first turn and subsequently pulled up in the back straight. Sky High Riot underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hind metatarsal. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the back straight and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
