Sylvan Lake was quick to begin.
Elli's My Girl marred Quenara Bale in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right-fore shoulder injury and a left back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Gary Cowcher regarding Elli's My Girl's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Elli's My Girl was charged with marring. Mr. Cowcher pleaded guilty to the charge and Elli's My Girl was suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Bahrose visibly eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following Race 7. Bahrose was found to have a left-fore pectoral injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Michael Bewley regarding Bahrose's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Bahrose was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Bewley pleaded guilty to the charge and Bahrose must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
