Steward's Report
The closing time of kennelling was altered in accordance with GAR 86, due to the late arrival of several trainers who experienced significant traffic delays on–route to the track. The kennels closed at 1:30pm.
A pre-race sample was taken from Queen Of Shiraz.
The start was delayed by approximately 75 seconds due to operational activities.
Tennison and Homer Four Zero were quick to begin.
Homer Four Zero underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Trevor Whitford regarding Homer Four Zero’s racing manners shortly after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Homer Four Zero was charged with marring. Mr. Whitford pled guilty to the charge, Homer Four Zero was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
