Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Flight Risk.
Ultimate Avenger and Belle Violin were slow to begin.
Money Owes, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right calf muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Rodney Clark regarding Money Owes’s racing manners approaching the turn off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Money Owes was charged with marring. Mr Clark pled guilty to the charge, Money Owes was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fearless Rory was checked and lost gound on the first turn, and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer representative Mr. Nathan Rooney regarding Fearless Rory losing ground in the back straight and over the concluding stages. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Rooney report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected Fearless Rory in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
A post-race sample was taken from Flight Risk - the winner of the event.
