Steward's Report
Crown Jimmy – Late scratching at 8:35am due to non–arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr. Benjamin Pell informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr. Pell that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Barwidgi with Mr. Luke Harris and noted their comments.
Zipping Celeste was slow to begin.
Miss Tickle and Chanko Girl collided soon after the start checking Chanko Girl. Gypsy Andy, Barwidgi and Miss Tickle collided approaching the first turn. Barwidgi, Miss Tickle and Chanko Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Tickle. Barwidgi and Chanko Girl collided on the home turn. Gypsy Andy and Barwidgi collided in the home straight.
Barwidgi underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left shoulder injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
