Silver Harp was quick to begin. Zambora Tara and Bowler's Name were slow to begin.
Zambora Tara and Bowler's Name collided soon after the start. Zambora Tara galloped on Mt. View Sassy approaching the first turn checking Mt. View Sassy. Bowler's Name shifted out and marred Silver Harp on the home turn. Zipping Blossom shifted out, turned its head and visibly eased on the home turn. Zipping Blossom turned its head and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Bowler's Name underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Christopher Langley, the trainer of Bowler's Name regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Bowler's Name was charged with marring. Mr Langley pleaded guilty to the charge, Bowler's Name was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Zipping Blossom underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a torn dew claw on the left foreleg and a laceration to the left foreleg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Giddings, the trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Zipping Blossom was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Giddings pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Blossom was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
