Rockstar Ruby and Flying Miss were slow to begin.
Mepunga Sparkle and Double 'Em Up collided soon after the start. Double 'Em Up and Gypsy Cinnamon collided approaching the first turn; checking Gypsy Cinnamon, which collided with Mepunga Sparkle. Mepunga Sparkle checked off Fugacious approaching the home turn. Flying Miss raced wide on the home turn. Sugar Spice raced wide entering the home straight. Mepunga Sparkle and Rockstar Ruby collided near the winning post.
Mepunga Sparkle underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Ross Lyons regarding the racing manners of Mepunga Sparkle near the winning post. After hearing evidence from Mr Lyons, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners near the winning post.
