A sample was taken from Summer Lights at the trainer’s kennel earlier today.
A pre-race sample was taken from Capture Bart.
Green Blazer, Substantial, Unathi Bale and Nicholas Rose were slow to begin.
Substantial and Unathi Bale collided soon after the start. West On Aries and Capture Bart collided approaching the first turn. Shantelle Rose and Summer Lights collided approaching the first turn. Green Blazer, Unathi Bale and Nicholas Rose collided on the first turn. Green Blazer, Shantelle Rose, Summer Lights, West On Aries and Capture Bart collided on the first turn checking Substantial, Shantelle Rose and Unathi Bale, severely checking Summer Lights which fell as a result.
Summer Lights underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped post race. No stand down period was imposed.
Unathi Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
