Baby Pechey was quick to begin. Jimmy Maker was slow to begin.
Chasing Honey, My Dad Baz and Shazbot collided soon after the start checking My Dad Baz. My Dad Baz and Jimmy Maker collided approaching the 300m mark checking Jimmy Maker. Nova To Burn visibly eased and collided with Baby Pechey approaching the winning post.
Nova To Burn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the right hind toe and the right front wrist. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Hardy, the trainer of Nova To Burn regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Nova To Burn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hardy pleaded not guilty to the charge, Nova To Burn was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
