Steward's Report
Chase The Magic was slow to begin.
Vinny Can Gogh and Man Cave collided soon after the start. Chase The Magic crossed out at the 300m mark. Chase The Magic and Irongate collided approaching the 250m mark. Percy's Princess visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post.
Percy's Princess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Matthew Marshall regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Percy's Princess was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Marshall pleaded guilty to the charge. Percy's Princess must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Following the event Blair's Tulip displayed signs of Post Exercise Distress Syndrome (PEDS). As a result, the greyhound underwent a veterinary examination and was found to be displaying clinical signs of Ataxia/Hypermetria. A 14 day stand down penalty was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Giddings. After hearing submissions, the Stewards acted in accordance with GAR 74 and Blair's Tulip must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, plus a veterinary clearance of fitness before any future nomination will be accepted.
Vinny Can Gogh underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
