Steward's Report
Mr Christopher Watson was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Cheap Shot pursuant to GAR 33.
A pre-race sample was taken from Atlas Alibi.
Magic Trio and Strength To Burn collided soon after the start. Cheap Shot crossed out soon after the start. Bomber Blitz crossed to the rails soon after the start. Cheap Shot and Bomber Blitz collided several times from the 250m mark to approaching the 100m mark severely checking both greyhounds. Magic Trio turned its head inwards, crossed in and marred Bomber Blitz.
Magic Trio underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Loren Dalziel, the Trainer of Magic Trio regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Magic Trio was charged with marring. Ms Dalziel pleaded guilty to the charge, Magic Trio was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Christopher Watson regarding the racing manners of Bomber Blitz soon after the start. After hearing evidence from Mr Watson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.
