Steward's Report
Daph's Zac– Late scratching at15:43pm. Ms A. Dailly, Trainer reported the greyhound to have diahorrea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Big Alfie was slow to begin. Aston Tango and Overshadowed collided soon after the start. Aston Tango, Overshadowed and Sir Champ collided approaching the first turn. Overshadowed, Sir Champ and Big Alfie collided on the first turn checking Big Alfie. Aston Tango and Earthworm Jim collided approaching the second turn. Dr. Xander checked off Aston Tango approaching the home turn. Big Alfie and Dr. Xander collided on the home turn. Sir Champ eased approaching the winning post.
Sir Champ was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hamstrings, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Crawford, Representative, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Sir Champ was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Sir Champ was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
