Viking Junior stayed in the boxes at box rise and took no part in the event.  Shima Pearl was quick to begin.  Jye's Jet, Calix Bale and Speak Up collided soon after the start.  Verdun Bale and Zinfandel Dusty collided approaching the first turn.  Verdun Bale and Shima Pearl collided on the first turn.  Speak Up and Jye's Jet collided on the first turn.  Verdun Bale and Zinfandel Dusty collided on the third turn.  Speak Up and Shima Pearl collided on the third turn.  Zinfandel Dusty and Jye's Jet collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Zinfandel Dusty.

Viking Junior was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Stewards spoke to Mr G. Kantzidis, the Trainer of Viking Junior regarding the greyhound failing to jump from the boxes at the start of the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Viking Junior was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kantzidis pleaded guilty to the charge. Viking Junior was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zinfandel Dusty was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained sand burn to the left hind, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Snapper Smith.

Pheme, Devel Sixteen and Auspicious Queen were slow to begin.  Devel Sixteen and Auspicious Queen collided soon after the start.  Rio Baskin, Super Marli and Pheme collided soon after the start.  Rio Baskin and Bella Mia Rocks collided approaching the first turn.  Lalina and Snapper Smith collided approaching the first turn checking Lalina.  Snapper Smith, Devel Sixteen and Lalina collided approaching the second turn, severely checking Lalina.  Snapper Smith and Auspicious Queen collided on the second turn.  Devel Sixteen checked off Bella Mia Rocks in the home straight and collided with Snapper Smith.

Daph's Zac– Late scratching at15:43pm.  Ms A. Dailly, Trainer reported the greyhound to have diahorrea (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.  

Big Alfie was slow to begin.  Aston Tango and Overshadowed collided soon after the start.  Aston Tango, Overshadowed and Sir Champ collided approaching the first turn.  Overshadowed, Sir Champ and Big Alfie collided on the first turn checking Big Alfie.  Aston Tango and Earthworm Jim collided approaching the second turn.  Dr. Xander checked off Aston Tango approaching the home turn.  Big Alfie and Dr. Xander collided on the home turn.  Sir Champ eased approaching the winning post.

Sir Champ was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right hamstrings, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr D. Crawford, Representative, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Sir Champ was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Sir Champ was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Aston Alpha checked off Call Me Chloe on the first turn.

Indy Fido and Jax Bale were slow to begin.  Xavien Bale and Fabriola Ximenez collided soon after the start.  Tiberia Bale checked off Indy Fido approaching the first turn.  Fabriola Ximenez and Jax Bale collided on the first turn.  Indy Fido checked off Nikoli Bale in the back straight checking Xavien Bale.  Tiberia Bale and Xavien Bale collided on the third turn.  Fabriola Ximenez and Jax Bale collided on the third turn checking Fabriola Ximenez.

El Cazador was slow to begin.  Dundee Ember checked off Call Me Buster soon after the start.  Call Me Buster, Showtime Boomer, Fernando's Quest, What Could Be and Whistling Bullet collided on the first turn checking all 5 greyhounds.  Dundee Ember checked off Fernando's Quest approaching the second turn.  Whistling Bullet checked off El Cazador on the fourth turn.  Fernando's Quest checked off Whistling Bullet approaching the home turn checking Showtime Boomer.
