All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.0 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Paul Anderton regarding the racing manners of Mahjong Bailey in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Anderton, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, no further action was taken.

Crackerjack Suni underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer's request and no apparent injury was found.

The Stewards dipensed with the hot weather policy at 4:18pm when the temperature dropped to 23.2 degrees.

Acting in accordance with the GRV Lightning and Thunderstorm Safety Procedure, racing was suspended at 4:53pm due to continuous lightning strikes within the designated safety zone around the Junortoun area. Due to the washing away of the track surface on the home turn and catching pen area unable to rectified within time, the race meeting was abandoned at 5:18pm.
