Steward's Report
Wild One Mikado was quick to begin. Master Molloy was slow to begin.
Plagiarise, Master Molloy, Aston Wonder and Kaw Liga collided soon after the start. Master Molloy contacted the running rail approaching the first turn, checking Aston Wonder. Pinjarra Bale contacted the running rail on the first turn. Kaw Liga visably eased approaching the second turn and collided with Wild One Mikado, Plagiarise and Cybertruck; checking Wild One Mikado, Plagiarise and Cybertruck. Kaw Liga turned its head out approaching the second turn. Master Molloy checked off Pinjarra Bale on the second turn. Wild One Mikado and Plagiarise collided on the second turn, checking Wild One Mikado. Aston Wonder and Plagiarise collided entering the back straight, checking Aston Wonder.
Pinjarra Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Kaw Liga underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left forleg shoulder injury and be displaying the thumps. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Daniel Pell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Kaw Liga was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Pell pleaded guilty to the charge, Kaw Liga must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Master Molloy underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg laceration, bruising and abrasion injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Thunder Dash - the winner of the event.
