Due to a technical malfunction with the 425m starting boxes this event was hand started.
Kandinsky and Perfect Treasure collided soon after the start causing Perfect Treasure to fall. Bern's Ability and Sweet Suzie collided approaching the home turn checking Sweet Suzie. Shaka Big Tonks and Kandinsky collided approaching the home turn checking Shaka Big Tonks. Sweet Suzie and Inga Luna collided entering the home straight.
Perfect Treasure underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
