Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards, with support from club officials, opened kennelling approximately 15 minutes early for the safety of participants and greyhounds due to localised lightning and thunderstorms.

Charlie's Jar was slow to begin.

Red Light Rico and Blazing Times collided soon after the start.  Zipping Jazz, Rebel May Road, Charlie's Jar and Red Light Rico collided on the first turn checking Zipping Jazz, Red Light Rico and Charlie's Jar.  Rag Time Rove and Zarate collided on the second turn checking Rag Time Rove.  Rebel May Road checked off Zipping Jazz entering the back straight.  Red Light Rico and Zipping Jazz collided in the back straight.  Red Light Rico checked off Zipping Jazz in the home straight.  

Dundee Ember and Sovereign Wind were quick to begin.

Galloping Speed and Midnight Snooze collided approaching the first turn.  Dundee Ember and Highly Explosive collided on the first turn.  Dundee Ember checked off Highly Explosive approaching the third turn.  Twisted Reality and Sovereign Wind collided on the fourth turn checking both greyhounds.  Sovereign Wind, Dundee Ember and Galloping Speed collided entering the home straight checking Galloping Speed and Sovereign Wind.

Hushing Dusk was slow to begin.

Plan Ahead and Amnesty collided on the first turn checking Amnesty.  Merlot and Plan Ahead collided in the front straight checking Merlot which lost ground, tailed off and then pulled up.  Hushing Dusk, Omega Tyson and Amnesty collided approaching the third turn checking Amnesty.  

Merlot underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the front straight and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

Lunar Star, Smooth Talker and War Drum Express were slow to begin.

War Drum Express and Sandra's Sticker collided on the first turn.  Sandra's Sticker contacted the running rail on the third turn checking War Drum Express.  War Drum Express checked off Smooth Talker in the back straight and again in the home straight.

Sandra's Sticker underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

A post-race sample was taken from Venus Light - winner of the event. 

A sample was taken from Xavien Bale at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

Tiberia Bale and Xavien Bale were slow to begin.

Aston Lavinia and Carry On Angel collided in the front straight checking both greyhounds.  Carry On Angel and Tiberia Bale collided on the first turn.  Aston Lavinia checked off Gypsy Bun on the third turn.  Caroline checked off Keep It Black approaching the home turn.  Keep It Black marred Riccarton Rick on the home turn.

Keep It Black underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right monkey muscle injuries. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Harrison Goss, the representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Keep It Black was charged with marring.  Mr. Goss pleaded guilty to the charge, Keep It Black was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Camulos was quick to begin.

Black Robin and Camulos collided soon after the start.  King Of Calypso and Black Robin collided soon after the start checking Black Robin and Call Me Buster.  Black Robin and Call Me Buster collided approaching the first turn checking Black Robin.  Foxy Bourbski, King Of Calypso and Providence Bale collided on the first turn.  Enter The Son, Foxy Bourbski, King Of Calypso, Call Me Buster and Providence Bale collided on the second turn checking Enter The Son, King Of Calypso and Call Me Buster.  Call Me Buster checked off Black Robin in the back straight.  Black Robin and Call Me Buster collided approaching the third turn.  Call Me Buster and Zipping Rambo collided on the home turn.

Black Robin underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Osprey Phantom and Time For Peace were slow to begin.

Osprey Phantom, Time For Peace and Idolize collided soon after the start.  Devel Sixteen, Idolize and Tynslee Bale collided on the first turn.  Idolize and Tynslee Bale collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds, causing Time For Peace to clip the heels of Tynslee Bale; Time For Peace raced wide and lost ground as a result.  Shima Classic and Rebellious collided entering the back straight severely checking Shima Classic which faltered and tailed off.  Shima Classic and Osprey Phantom collided approaching the third turn.

Shima Classic underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Music Event - winner of the event.

Don't Tell Bluey was slow to begin.

Carry On Maxwell and Indy Matilda collided several times from soon after the start to approaching the first turn checking Indy Matilda.  Handsome Rhino, Whatever I Say and Hadouken collided soon after the start checking Handsome Rhino, Hadouken and severely checking Whatever I Say.  Handsome Rhino and Carry On Maxwell collided on the first turn.  Jepara checked off Aston Rupee on the first turn.  Don't Tell Bluey and Hadouken collided on the first turn and again on the second turn checking Hadouken and Indy Matilda.

Envy To Burn was quick to begin.  Jarick Bale, Perfectly Poised and Flywheel Bella were slow to begin.

Sweet Petit, Perfectly Poised, Hill Top Jack and Flywheel Bella collided on the first turn checking Hill Top Jack, severely checking Sweet Petit, Perfectly Poised and Flywheel Bella.  Flywheel Bella checked off Sweet Petit entering the home straight. 

He Shall Rodger and One Night Only collided soon after the start.  Arlington checked off Spring Cobra soon after the start causing Arlington to collide with Going Alright checking Arlington.  Fire And Fury and Going Alright collided soon after the start.  Going Alright and Spring Cobra collided on the first turn and again on the second turn checking Going Alright.  He Shall Rodger and One Night Only collided approaching the second turn.  Spring Cobra contacted the running rail on the second turn.  Yohan Bale faltered entering the back straight and took no further part in the event.  

Yohan Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Alfie Alligator and Thylacine were slow to begin.

Alfie Alligator checked off Zipping Loxley soon after the start.  Zipping Loxley and Lektra Jena collided in the front straight.  Neveah Bale, Resurgence, Lektra Jena, Zipping Loxley and Thylacine collided on the first turn severely checking Resurgence, Zipping Loxley, Lektra Jena and Thylacine.  

Thylacine underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Auspicious Queen was slow to begin.

Shima Punga and Auspicious Queen collided soon after the start.  Fireweed, Belli Ali, Molly Blazer and Enabler collided on the first turn checking Belle Ali, Enabler and severely checking Molly Blazer.  Decimate checked off Shima Punga entering the back straight.  Firewood checked off Stiff Wind entering the back straight.  Firewood raced wide on the home turn.
