Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Ruby Dealer and Charlotte Tulip were slow to begin.
Extra Hot Emily and Explodes To Burn collided soon after the start. Vinny Can Gogh and Gunai Fay collided approaching the 250m mark. Ruby Dealer and Charlotte Tulip collided at the 250m mark. Gunai Fay veered out and marred Lady Wynal approaching the 150m mark, colliding with Seize Possession and Lady Wynal. Extra Hot Emily checked off Ruby Dealer at the 150m mark. Gunai Fay and Lady Wynal collided several times from the 150m mark to the 100m mark. Charlotte Tulip checked off Vinny Van Gogh at the 100m mark. Gunai Fay veered out and marred Lady Wynal approaching the 50m mark. Extra Hot Emily checked off Vinny Van Gogh at the 50m mark. Gunai Fay and Lady Wynal collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Damien Howard, the representative of Lady Wynal as some noticeable betting fluctuations were noted by Stewards. The comments of Mr. Howard were noted and a sample was taken for analysis (winner of the event).
Gunai Fay underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Filomena, the trainer of Gunai Fay regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 150m mark and again at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Gunai Fay was charged with marring. Mr Filomena pleaded guilty to the charge, Gunai Fay was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
