The initial attempt to start the race was aborted due to the lids opening before any greyhounds were boxed. The Stewards ordered the re-start to be a manual start. On the second attempt, the lids failed to opened and a False Start was declared. All greyhounds underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit for racing. The boxes were tested and passed as suitable, it was identified as an operational error.  

On the third attempt, the race commenced but the Stewards held the All-Clear after observing the lids opening too early and prior to the normal prescribed point. After reviewing all available video footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards were not satisfied that the incident had no effect on the outcome of the race and as such, pursuant to GAR 56, declared the event to be a "No Race". All bets are refunded. The weights recorded for the greyhounds are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule, at the greyhounds next start. The event was then abandoned, with prizemoney to be split evenly between the greyhounds who competed.  

Under GAR 20(3)(h), the Stewards replaced the starter with another suitably qualified official to start Races 11 & 12.  This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and specifically, a refresher in process and further training for the starter of Race 10. 

Moyarra Illusion underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
