Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Merlot.
Starlight Dusty and War Drum Express were slow to begin.
Affair Bit and Merlot collided soon after the start. Horizon Princess, War Drum Express, Affair Bit and Merlot collided on the first turn, checking those runners. Horizon Princess, War Drum Express and Merlot collided approaching the second turn, checking those runners. Starlight Dusty marred Emergency on the second turn, both greyhounds lost ground. Starlight Dusty marred Affair Bit on the home turn, both greyhounds lost ground.
Starlight Dusty underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Jake Loverso, the representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn and on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Starlight Dusty was charged with marring. Mr. Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge. Starlight Dusty was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
