Steward's Report
Grey Not Blue – Late scratching at 6.19pm on the 14 September 2021 when Mr Adam Rademaker reported the greyhound to have a fibula injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6), Lure Drivers Mr. C. Hiscock and Mr. C. Chilcott did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Chillout Cookie was quick to begin. Keenan Rocks was slow to begin.
Zurial Bale, Tzar's Ghost and McIvor Jill collided on the first turn checking Tzar's Ghost and Keenan Rocks. Keenan Rocks shifted out and collided with Zurial Bale on the first turn. Keenan Rocks turned its head outwards and marred Zurial Bale approaching the home turn. Balt's Flying and McIvor Jill collided entering the home straight.
Keenan Rocks underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Wade Green, the trainer, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1), Keenan Rocks was charged with marring. Mr. Green pleaded guilty to the charge and Keenan Rocks was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr Green also advised Stewards that he would be retiring the greyhound.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Zurial Bale, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
