Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Giovani.
Superior Swanny and Dainty Leigh were slow to begin.
Giovani faltered at the 300m mark and tailed off, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle and right back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards held the All Clear in order for the Stewards to review the positioning of the lure in the vicinity of the 50m mark, with reference to GAR 109(2). After reviewing all available video footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards were satisfied that no runner was advantaged nor disadvantaged so as to affect the outcome of the event. Therefore the variance was permitted in accordance with GAR 109(2) and the All Clear was given on the 8-2-6-7.
