Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & sarticipants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore face masks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Shore Lanka crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Hooman and Burn Bella Burn. Salut Sideways and Cheeky Shed Red collided soon after the start. Hooman faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result. Cheeky Shed Red and Burn Bella Burn raced wide on the first turn. Cinderella Storm eased on the second turn. Cinderella Storm and Salut Sideways collided approaching the third turn.
Hooman underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Cinderella Storm underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion and bruising to the left stopper and left front foot, a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Miss Cassendra Jayakody regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Cinderella Storm was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss Jayakody pleaded not guilty to the charge, Cinderella Storm was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
