Steward's Report
My Annabelle, Lucy Mac, Sweet Suzie and Odessa Rock collided soon after the start checking Lucy Mac. Sweet Suzie and Odessa Rock collided approaching the first turn checking Odessa Rock. Exit Sign and Chesty La Rue collided approaching the first turn checking Exit Sign. Fancy Trance galloped on Chesty La Rue on the first turn checking Fancy Trance, Chesty La Rue, Exit Sign and Lucy Mac. Mega Heist marred Sweet Suzie in the home straight.
Mega Heist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a pre-existing callus to the left hindleg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Malcolm Davis, the trainer of Mega Heist regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mega Heist was charged with marring. Mr Davis pleaded guilty to the charge, Mega Heist was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards will conduct an Inquiry into the racing manners of Sweet Suzie in this Event at a date and time to be fixed.
