Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements, and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Pablo's Star - Late scratching at 6:43am when Mr J. Formosa reported the greyhound to have a foot injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Patricia's Luck.
Titanium Lass and Blair's Tulip were slow to begin.
Huntly Flyer crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Jocularity. Patricia's Luck and Gypsy Play collided soon after the start. Patricia's Luck turned its head outwards soon after the start. Huntly Flyer and Jocularity collided at the 275m mark. Patricia's Luck, Huntly Flyer and Blair's Tulip collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark. Patricia's Luck and Gypsy Play collided at the 150m mark.
Patricia's Luck underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Patricia's Luck was found to have a left elbow injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa, the handler of Patricia's Luck regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1) Patricia's Luck was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Patricia's Luck was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
