Steward's Report
Agent Swan and Flossy Jo were slow to begin. Crackerjack Ads and Rock The Sky collided soon after the start. Bindi Girl and Geena Bale collided soon after the start checking Geena Bale. Rock The Sky and Agent Swan collided approaching the first turn. Agent Swan galloped on Rock The Sky on the first turn. Montaro and Black Hog Ride collided on the first turn. Rock The Sky, Agent Swan and Geena Bale collided on the first turn checking Agent Swan and severely checking Geena Bale. Montaro visibly eased and turned its head in approaching the home turn. Rock The Sky, Bindi Girl, Crackerjack Ads and Montaro collided on the home turn. Rock The Sky was checked off Flossy Jo in the home straight. Montaro visibly eased and turned its head in approaching the winning post.
Montaro underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Meade the trainer of Montaro regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Montaro was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Meade pleaded guilty to the charge, Montaro was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
