All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 34.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.9 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting.  Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Totally Balanced – Late scratching at 2:18 pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr J Harrington was fined $100.

After the race, the Stewards held the All Clear due to the excessive distance of the lure in the home straight.  Stewards spoke to the lure driver who advised that the lure had initially slipped and then grabbed, thus taking the lure away (slingshot effect) from the lead greyhound beyond mandated standards in the home straight.  After deliberation, the Stewards were not satisfied that the described issue above had no effect to the outcome of the race and in accordance with GAR 56, declared the event to be a "No-Race".  All bets are to be refunded.  The weights recorded for the competing greyhounds are void and shall not be considered when having the greyhound's next start.  The lure trolley was replaced and tested successfully before progressing with the remainder of the race meeting. 

The remainder of the meeting was delayed to allow track maintenance staff to rectify the issue.  All races were amended to the following times: Race 2 - 3:54 pm; Race 3 - 4:15 pm; Race 4 - 4:34 pm; Race 5 - 4:55 pm; Race 6 - 5:14 pm; Race 7 - 5:35 pm; Race 8 - 5:54 pm; Race 9 - 6:14 pm; Race 10 - 6:38 pm; Race 11 - 6:57 pm; and Race 12 - 7:15 pm.  

Diva Dot underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Pacific Bar underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have left foreleg split webbing and spike wound injuries.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Dundee Zircon – New declared weight of 32.5 kg, last raced at 33.7 kg.

Prior to the running of this event, Stewards tested the lure and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.

Dundee Zircon and Crystal Queen were slow to begin.

Milly's Last, Kip Your Star, Crystal Queen and Dundee Zircon collided approaching the first turn; causing Milly's Last and Crystal Queen to lose ground.  Dundee Zircon crossed out on the home turn and collided with Aqua Vite; causing Aqua Vite to lose ground.  Aqua Vite and Crystal Queen collided entering the home straight.  Aqua Vite raced wide in the home straight.

Velocity Adage was quick to begin.

French Beauty and Arancini collided approaching the first turn.  Dundee Topaz checked off French Beauty approaching the first turn.  Coalville Chief and Run To You collided on the first turn; checking Coalville Chief and Run To You and causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Arancini faltered entering the back straight and subsequently tailed off.  Shrek's Ninja and Dundee Topaz collided in the home straight.

Coalville Chief underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Arancini underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Star Hawk and See Me Willow collided on the first turn; checking See Me Willow, Light On Tackle and Lilac Sky.  Light On Tackle checked off Lilac Sky approaching the home turn.  Draconic Lad and Lilac Sky collided entering the home straight.

Why Not Gazza and Crazy Old Fool collided approaching the first turn, checking Crazy Old Fool.  Why Not Gazza and Shanghai Avatar collided on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Ginger Meggs, Crazy Old Fool and Why Not Gazza collided on the home turn; checking all three greyhounds.  Shanghai Avatar, Ginger Meggs and Crazy Old Fool collided in the home straight.

Marshall Dillon and Honey Double One collided soon after the start.  Huntly Star crossed out approaching the first turn, colliding with Marshall Dillon and Honey Double One; causing Marshall Dillon and Honey Double One to lose ground.  Marshall Dillon raced wide in the back straight.  Zipping Bates and Hillbilly Road collided on the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Bates - the winner of the event.

My Dark Rose – Late scratching at 2:01 pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Sir Julian was slow to begin.

Let's Roll and Shaun John collided on the first turn, checking Let's Roll.  Let's Roll and Why Not Lilah collided on the first turn; causing Let's Roll to lose ground.  Sir Julian raced wide entering the home straight.

High Plain was quick to begin.  Zipping Hunter and Volcanic Lava were slow to begin.

Volcanic Lava and Threadin' Mikado collided on the second turn.  Zipping Hunter and Volcanic Lava collided entering the home straight.

Bella Bonnie was quick to begin.

Star Gem and Flash Opal collided soon after the start.  Lembor and Coco Chum collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Black Garnet and Walk With Grace collided on the first turn.
