Steward's Report
Especial Echo was quick to begin.
Big Leigh faltered and lost ground approaching the first turn. Buzz Out visibly eased and lost ground approaching the home turn. Cloak And Dagger and Especial one collided on the home turn.
Big Leigh underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left fore pectoral injury, left fore monkey muscle injury and a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Buzz Out underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Leathan, the trainer of Buzz Out regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Buzz Out was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr D. Leatham pleaded guilty to the charge, Buzz Out was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
