Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

La La Jersey – Late scratching at 5:52am when Ms Donna Knight reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Eagles Rest and Waikerie Bandit collided approaching the first turn. Arriba Nachos and Happy Dance collided on the first turn. Key Effort, Farmer's Arms and Queen Lisa collided approaching the home turn checking Farmer's Arms. Eagles Rest and Waikerie Bandit collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight. Happy Dance and Queen Lisa collided entering the home straight. Happy Dance raced wide in the home straight.

Got Me Smarty – Late scratching at 8:19am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to papilloma to the right hind toes. No stand down period was imposed. 

Ruby Arizona was quick to begin. Buzz Out and Kid James collided approaching the first turn. Ruby Arizona and Kid James collided entering home straight.

Dewana Step was slow to begin. Super Shenron and Lilah's Mac collided approaching the first turn. Kid Caldwell and King Brown collided approaching the home turn checking King Brown. Run Johnny Run and Dewana Step collided on the home turn.

Preconceived underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a hamstring injury and bruised left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Trainer Mr Ross Lyons failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Ride On for racing. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46 (2).

Argyle Audrey, Plain Name, Ride On, Aston Anita and Mai Tai Focus collided on the first turn checking Ride On and Mai Tai Focus. Ride On and Aston Anita collided on the second turn. Ride On lost ground in the home straight.

Ride On underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to Mr Ross Lyons regarding the racing manners of Ride On in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Lyons, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Unusual Suspect – New declared weight of 25.0kg, last raced at 26.5kg.

Good Mate Rusty and Unusual Suspect were quick to begin. Awesome Grit, Midnight Bling and Dundas Houdini collided on the first turn. Unusual Suspect and Good Mate Rusty collided on the first turn. Dundas Houdini and Midnight Bling collided entering the home straight checking Midnight Bling. Untested raced wide in the home straight.

Saffron Gold – Late scratching at 8:20 am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Cornhill Rebel was quick to begin. Deadly Walk and Miss Marley collided on the first turn checking Deadly Walk which stumbled as a result. Miss Marley and Crown Knox collided approaching the second turn. Crown Knox clipped the heels of Toolleen Town approaching the home turn. Canya Go Wild and Take The Lead collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post checking Canya Go Wild which stumbled as a result.

Canya Go Wild underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind quadricep muscle injury.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Sean Cameron regarding the racing manners of Canya Go Wild in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Cameron, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.

Darra Dawnne and Five Sisters collided soon after the start checking Five Sisters. Darra Dawnne and Golden Boy collided approaching the first turn. Aston Ryker and Gap Cabang collided approaching the home turn. Darra Dawnne raced wide in the home straight.

It was noted that the muzzle of Potente Rocks became dislodged during the running of the event.

Aston Ryker underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a laceration to the left ilial. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Irwin Bale – Late scratching at 4:20am when Mrs Tammy Kennedy-Harris reported the greyhound to have a shoulder injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Jye Licious was slow to begin. Pontiac Bandit and La La Louis collided approaching the first turn. La Senorita Roja and Pontiac Bandit collided on the first turn checking La Senorita Roja. Pontiac Bandit and All Ablaze collided on the home turn. Jye Licious raced wide in the home straight.

Blast Zone and Gallant Toby collided soon after the start and again on the first turn. Harley Merrett and Gallant Toby collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Que Up and Harley Merrett collided in the home straight.
