Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Coyote Ugly.
Stride For Pride and Coyote Ugly collided soon after the start. What A Kicker crossed to the outside approaching the 250m mark and collided with Coyote Ugly and Phoebe's Angel. What A Kicker Marred Phoebe's Angel approaching the 150m mark checking Phoebe's Angel and Coyote Ugly. What A Kicker turned its head towards the inside and visibly eased at the 150m mark. What A Kicker marred Phoebe's Angel at the 100m mark and again several times from the 50m mark to the winning post checking Phoebe's Angel.
What A Kicker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have and injury to the right triangle muscle and a laceration to the right hind foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Tony Tufo, the trainer of What A Kicker regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 150m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) What A Kicker was charged with marring. Mr Tufo pleaded guilty, to the charge, What A Kicker was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
