Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Blue Gal was quick to begin.  One Babe was slow to begin.

Redzin, Ride Along, Arizona Gold and It's A Shadow collided on the first turn checking Ride Along and Arizona Gold.  It's A Shadow, Hold On and Argyle Audrey collided on the first turn checking Hold On and Argyle Audrey.  Redzin and Blue Gal collided on the second turn checking Blue Gal.  Redzin and It's A Shadow collided on the second turn checking Redzin.  Argyle Audrey checked off Blue Gal on the third turn.  Arizona Gold and Blue Gal collided on the third turn checking Blue Gal.  One Babe and Hold On collided in the back straight checking One Babe.

Midget Rocks, Tigerfish Fozz and Kenny The Brute were slow to begin.

Tigerfish Fozz checked off Kenny The Brute on the first turn.  Ovens Angler, Yellowtail Bear and Kenny The Brute collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Tigerfish Fozz, Yellowtail Bear and Kenny The Brute collided approaching the second tun checking Yellowtail Bear and Kenny The Brute.  Dash Of Reyne checked off Magnussen in the back straight.  Midget Rocks and Jayville Tahlia collided in the back straight checking Jayville Tahlia.

Kutcher's Ruslie and Olive's Branch were quick to begin.  Crispy Duck was slow to begin.

Vigorous, Flair and Agent Piper collided soon after the start checking Vigorous and Flair.  Vigorous checked off Flair on the first turn checking Crispy Duck and causing it to race wide.  Flair and Bowled Underarm collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Agent Piper checked off Olive's Branch approaching the second turn.  Flair checked off Bowled Underarm on the second turn.  Vigorous and Agent Piper collided approaching the winning post checking Agent Piper and Flair.  

Crispy Duck underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind flexor tendons.  No stand down period was imposed.

The Stewards interviewed Mr W. Kee, the trainer of Halwes in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race. Mr Kee made several submissions relating to the circumstances of the withdrawal.  Stewards noted these submissions and have requested the Kennel Treatment Records of Mr Kee and acting in accordance with GAR 20 (3) (v), a veterinary certificate has been ordered by Stewards, before any further nominations are accepted for Halwes.

Helen's Teddy was slow to begin.

Brady's Shout and Delancy Bale collided on the first turn checking Delancy Bale and Cell Block Tango.  Delancy Bale and Cell Block Tango collided on the home turn.

Niccali – Late scratching at 4.09pm (24 October 2020) when Mrs M. Lithgow reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Aston Genesis was quick to begin.  Sadie Bale, Digitorum and Spring Party were slow to begin.
