Steward's Report

The start time for this event was rescheduled to 12:42pm.

Always There – New declared weight of 28.7kg, last raced at 27.6kg.

Architecture was slow to begin. Just Love checked off Violation soon after the start. Barellen Rocket crossed in on the first turn severely checking Naga Viper, Always There, Barellen Rocket and Violation; Naga Viper and Barellen Rocket subsequently fell. Pacific Coast visibly eased approaching the home turn. Architecture and Just Love collided approaching the home turn. 

Naga Viper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. 

Barellen Rocket underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Pacific Coast underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Fred Bickerton regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Pacific Coast was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bickerton pleaded guilty to the charge, Pacific Coast was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Ebonique- the winner of the event.
