Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards were advised that the track was medium harrowed on Friday 16 October 2020.

Galiena Bale was quick to begin. How's It Alice and Walk With Grace collided soon after the start checking Walk With Grace. Jet Burner and Galiena Bale collided on the first turn checking Galiena Bale. Mt. View Jester and Witchie's Gas collided approaching the home turn checking Mt. View Jester. Mt. View Jester and Walk With Grace collided entering the home straight. 

Galiena Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Mt. View Dusty was slow to begin. Walk On Betty stumbled on the first turn, crossed to the outside and lost ground, checking Mt. View Dusty. 

Walk On Betty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Mt. View Dusty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain and right triangle muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Mighty Tuscany – Late scratching at 10.13am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr.J.Brown was fined $100.

Upon activating the green light to start this event there was a loss of power to the lure, as a result all greyhounds were removed from the boxes and returned to the kennelling area. All runners underwent a veterinary examination and were passed fit to race. All remaining races were put back by one race to give the track staff time to rectify the issue. This event was subsequently rescheduled to start at 11:47am. Due to a further delay with the testing of the lure, the start of the event was delayed by an additional two and a half minutes. 

Aston Dotty was quick to begin. Blue Tick Erin was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Tiger's Roar contacted the running rail on the first turn, lost ground and subsequently pulled up, checking Blue Tick Erin. 

Tiger's Roar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left femur fracture and a laceration on the left stifle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Devon Shadow and Addy's Evie collided soon after the start checking Devon Shadow. Son Of Fabio checked off Addy's Evie approaching the first turn. Addy's Evie, Pretty More and Where's The Rum collided on the first turn checking Pretty More and Where's The Rum. Son Of Fabio and Kuta Cowboy raced wide on the first turn. Pretty More and Where's The Rum collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Devon Shadow and Where's The Rum collided approaching the home turn. Addy's Evie checked off White Assassin entering the home straight. Pretty More and Where's The Rum collided in the home straight.

Majestic Way was quick to begin. Chasing Beers, Jebrynah Octave and Rock Me Xanthe collided approaching the first turn checking Jebrynah Octave. Jebrynah Octave checked off Dundee Prince on the first turn checking Rock Me Xanthe. Dundee Prince and Hook Along Mint collided entering the home straight checking Dundee Prince. Chasing Beers and Hook Along Mint collided approaching the winning post. 

Majestic Way underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico- thoracic injury and a injured right deltiod muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Waylon Kee regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the second turn. After hearing evidence from Mr Kee, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.

Always There – New declared weight of 28.7kg, last raced at 27.6kg.

Architecture was slow to begin. Just Love checked off Violation soon after the start. Barellen Rocket crossed in on the first turn severely checking Naga Viper, Always There, Barellen Rocket and Violation; Naga Viper and Barellen Rocket subsequently fell. Pacific Coast visibly eased approaching the home turn. Architecture and Just Love collided approaching the home turn. 

Naga Viper underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. 

Barellen Rocket underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Pacific Coast underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Fred Bickerton regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Pacific Coast was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Bickerton pleaded guilty to the charge, Pacific Coast was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cute Patootie was quick to begin and shifted out approaching the first turn checking Aladdin Prince and My Lil' Angel. Cute Patootie, My Lil' Angel and Dirty Boston collided on the first turn causing Cute Patootie to gallop on Dirty Boston, checking Dirty Boston, Cute Patootie, My Lil' Angel and Almapa Gallucci. Aladdin Prince galloped on Dirty Boston approaching the home turn. Cute Patootie and My Lil' Angel collided approaching the home turn.

Let's Roll was quick to begin. Smarty Pants and More wit collided soon after the start. Smarty Pants, More Wit, Gracie's Girl, Why Not Gazza and Mighty Tracey collided on the first turn checking More Wit, Gracie's Girl, Mighty Tracey, Why Not Gazza and Take A Daisy. Gracie's Girl and Mighty Tracey collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn.

Mt. View Sassy and Luigi Bale were slow to begin. Manila Shine and Get Around Her collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds and causing Luigi Bale to race wide. Lulu Osti lost ground on the first turn checking Mt. View Pearl. Lulu Osti, Mt. View Pearl and Luigi Bale collided in the home straight causing Luigi Bale to fall. Mt. View Pearl faltered approaching the winning post.

Lulu Osti underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Michael Niele regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. After viewing all available video footage and taking into account the explanation of Mr.Niele, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. 

Mt. View Pearl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Trevor Whitford regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. After viewing all available video footage and taking into account the injury sustained, Stewards took no further action.

Luigi Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sesamoid injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
