Gemma Blue, Aston Corinna and Code Blue Sue collided soon after the start, checking Aston Corinna. Rock Me Gorgeous, Digitorum and Crackerjack Dirt collided approaching the first turn, checking Digitorum. Rock Me Gorgeous faltered on the first turn and tailed off. Padrino Rocks and Crackerjack Dirt collided on the second turn, checking Crackerjack Dirt. Crackerjack Dirt and Code Blue Sue collided entering the back straight, checking Code Blue Sue. Aston Corinna marred Digitorum in the home straight.
Rock Me Gorgeous underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Corinna underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right hindleg calf and hamstrings injuries. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr George Dailly, the handler of Aston Corinna regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Corinna was charged with marring. Mr Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Corinna was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
