Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Stones Throw was quick to begin. Rival Wiggy was slow to begin. Happy Dance, Magic Rooster, Shore Lanka and Inky's Fireball collided on the first turn checking Magic Rooster. Butterfly Indee, Happy Dance and Rival Wiggy collided approaching the second turn severely checking Happy Dance which fell as a result. Shore Lanka and Inky's Fireball collided approaching the home turn. Butterfly Indee turned its head outwards and marred Dark Pearl entering the home straight. Butterfly Indee and Dark Pearl collided in the home straight.
Butterfly Indee underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr T Boehmke, the trainer of Butterfly Indee regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Butterfly Indee was charged with marring. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Butterfly Indee was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Happy Dance underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Shore Lanka underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the both foreleg toes. No stand down period was imposed.
