Shift Change was quick to begin.
Ching Ching raced wide approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Rothford clipped the heels of Crackerjack Noah on the first turn. Rothford galloped on the heels of Crackerjack Noah approaching the home turn; checking Rothford; severely checking Crackerjack Noah, which collided with Aston Pinot. Rakesh and Ching Ching collided on the home turn. Ching Ching raced wide in the home straight.
Crackerjack Noah underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the left stopper and left hind foot. A three day stand down period was imposed.
