Steward's Report
Lightning Gadget underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race.
Lightning Gadget, Aerolithology, Quicker Than Joe, Graphic Design and All Over Elly collided on the first turn checking Quicker Than Joe and All Over Elly. Lightning Gadget and Aerolithology collided approaching the second turn. Quicker Than Joe faltered and lost ground approaching the second turn.Cornhill Rebel checked off Aerolithology approaching the home turn. Lightning Gadget turned it's head inwards and marred Nicko In Paris approaching the winning post.
Lightning Gadget underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a papilloma on the third right hind toe. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Quicker Than Joe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to a left quadraceps injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Gary Hansen, the trainer of Lightning Gadget regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Lightning Gadget was charged with marring. Mr. Hansen pleaded guilty to the charge, Lightning Gadget was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
