Into The River, Tinker China, Wiggle It Bart and Barunga Bullet were slow to begin.
Into The River and Tinker China collided soon after the start. Wiggle It Bart and Barunga Bullet collided soon after the start. Spud and Preconceived raced wide from the 300m mark to the 150m mark. Barunga Bullet visibly eased and pulled up at the 100m mark.
Barunga Bullet underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr Brent Merton declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Merton, the representative of Barunga Bullet regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1) Barunga Bullet was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Merton pleaded guilty to the charge, was found guilty and suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
