Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) Steward, Ms. D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
My Dad Baz, Mallee Swan, Manila Ezra and Braemar Wallace were slow to begin.
Mallee Swan and Manila Ezra collided soon after the start. Mallee Swan, Manila Ezra and Freckles Brown collided at the 300m mark. Manila Ezra turned its head to the outside and collided with Rezzie's Shout approaching the 200m mark. Braemar Wallace and Alfie Mikado collided at the 150m mark. Manila Ezra, Rezzie's Shout, Alfie Mikado and Braemar Wallace collided approaching the 100m mark checking Rezzie's Shout. Mallee Swan and Manila Ezra collided approaching the winning post.
Manila Ezra underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted at 2pm and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a right sartorius injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Aaron Debattista regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 200m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Manila Ezra was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Manila Ezra was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
