Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Sparkle Debacle was slow to begin.
Careless Crow and Brazen Mosquito collided soon after the start. Pat May Joy, Careless Crow and Brazen Mosquito collided approaching the first turn, checking Careless Crow. Rockin' Diamonds and Sparkle Debacle collided on the first turn. Pay May Joy checked off Ready To Launch on the home turn. Sparkle Debacle checked off Rockin' Diamonds in the home straight. Brazen Mosquito visibly eased in the home straight and collided with Ready To Launch.
Brazen Mosquito underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr J Guy declined a re-vet of the greyhound.
Stewards spoke to Mr J Guy, the trainer of Brazen Mosquito regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Brazen Mosquito was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Guy pleaded guilty to the charge, Brazen Mosquito was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Rockin' Diamonds - the winner of the event.
