A pre-race sample was taken from Instinctual.
Phil's My Bro and Piece Of Heaven were slow to begin.
Phil's My Bro, Jump The Bar, Peter Coin, Instinctual and Aston Rocket collided on the first turn checking Peter Coin, severely checking Jump The Bar and Instinctual, Jump The Bar faltered and subsequently tailed off. Phil's My Bro checked off Aston Rocket entering the home straight.
Jump The Bar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a tail injury and a right bicep injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards noted that the semaphore board displayed an incorrect finish time of 18.28 at the conclusion of this event, the correct finish time for this event was 17.93.
